INTERESTING FACTS PART 2!!!

1)BLUE BLUE BLUE......People says that the clear blue sky is so calming and peaceful but do you even know why is this so???The color blue has a calming effect. It causes the brain to release calming hormones!!!

2)ah ah ah chu!!!you know what...this is bad fo you as every time you sneeze some of your brain cells die.

3)hahahaha...Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones and strengthens the immune system. Six-year-olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.

4)Intelligent people(like me haha) have more zinc and copper in their hair.

5)hahaha again:)The average person laughs 13 times a day.

6)krack...krack...The sound you hear when you crack your knuckles is actually the sound of nitrogen gas bubbles bursting.

7)sheee..sheee...you know what, the roar that we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean, but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in the ear.

8)If you are right handed(like me;)), you will tend to chew your food on your right side. If you are left handed, you will tend to chew your food on your left side.

9)hey i am thirsty but i dont need water;o???If you stop getting thirsty, you need to drink more water. For when a human body is dehydrated, its thirst mechanism shuts off.

10)boo hoo hoo...i am crying but have no fear, chewing gum is here!!!Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying.

11) Your tongue is germ free only if it is pink. If it is white there is a thin film of bacteria on it.

just for your info(nothing to do with science;))Two animal rights protesters were protesting at the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn. Suddenly the pigs, all two thousand of them, escaped through a broken fence and stampeded, trampling the two hapless protesters to death.

MY TERM 3 SCIENCE ACE;)

HI!!!THIS IS MY ACE ABOUT THE BIG BANG.ENJOY

The Big Bang theory is an idea of what happened at the start of our universe, during and after that moment but it may be wrong as after all, its only a theory. Discoveries in astronomy and physics have shown that our universe definitely have a beginning like all life have. Before that, there was completely nothing; during and after that moment our universe is created. So, lets move on and find out more

Firstly , the universe must have a beginning.

Secondly, galaxies are moving away from us at speeds which are proportional to their distance. This is called "Hubble's Law," named after Edwin Hubble (1889-1953) who discovered this fact in 1929 which supports the expansion of the universe and suggests that the universe was once very dense.

Thirdly, if the universe was extremely hot at the beginning as the Big Bang suggests, we should be able to find some evidence of this heat. In 1965, Radio astronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered a 2.725 degree Kelvin Cosmic Microwave Background radiation which spread the universe.

But there are many other evidence , however, the ones I mentioned above are the most popular among people, hence lets explore more.

Is the Big Bang theory the only evidence? Nope , it's just the most popular one. Astrophysicist George F. R. Ellis once said: "People need to be aware that there is a range of models that could explain the observations. In my opinion there is absolutely nothing wrong in that. What I want to say is the fact that we are using philosophical criteria in choosing our models. A lot of cosmology tries to hide that." 7 years ago, Physicist Robert Gentry presented an alternative to the BIG BANG theory, which also supports the evidences in the previous slide. Dr. Gentry claimed that the standard Big Bang model is founded upon a faulty paradigm which he claims is inconsistent with the empirical data. He chooses to base his model on Einstein's static-space-time paradigm which he claims to be the "real cosmic Rosetta." Gentry has published several papers outlining what he considers to be serious flaws in the standard Big Bang model. However, people are still more comfortable with the BIG BANG theory and not his.

You may be wondering what is static space-time…well , in general relatively, a space-time is said to be static if it admits a global, non-vanishing, time like killing vector fieldK which is irrotational, i.e., whose orthogonal distribution is involutive. Thus a static space-time is a stationary space-time answering this ability to be integrated condition. These space-time form one of the simplest classes of Lorentzian manifolds.
Every static space-time looks like a regular static space-time which is a Lorentzian warped product R S with a metric of the form g[(t,x)] = − β(x)dt2 + gS[x], where R is the real line, gS is a (positive definite) metric and β is a positive function on the Riemannian manifold S.
In such a local coordinate representation the Killing field K may be identified with and S, the manifold of K-trajectories, may be treated as the immediate 3-space of stationary observers. If λ is the square of the norm of the Killing vector field, λ = g(K,K), both λ and gS are independent of time. It is from the latter fact that a static space-time obtains its name, as the geometry of the space-like slice S doesn't change over time.

Any discussion of the Big Bang theory would be incomplete without asking the question, what about God? This is because cosmogony is an area where science and theology meet. Creation was a supernatural event. This fact brings the question: is there anything else which exists outside of the natural realm? Specifically, is there a master Architect out there? We know that this universe had a beginning. Was God the "First Cause"?However till today, no one has an answer for this and this question is still a mystery. However, this has led to many religions and believes such as some Chinese believing that a goddess called nu wa who created the universe and mankind while having Christians believing that it is GOD who build the universe which can be read from GENESIS 1:1 from the bible.

There are many misconceptions surrounding the Big Bang theory. For example, people tend to thing that BIG BANG is a giant explosion. Experts however say that there was no explosion while it is an expansion. Rather than imagining a balloon popping and releasing its contents, imagine a balloon expanding.

Another misconception is that we tend to image that big bang happened in space. According to the many experts however, space didn't exist prior to the Big Bang and it is very hard to imagine how the Big Bang occurred

An important feature of the Big Bang space-time is the presence of horizon. Since the Universe has a finite age, and light travels at a finite speed, there may be events in the past whose light has not had time to reach us. This places a limit or a past horizon on the most distant objects that can be observed. Conversely, because space is expanding, and more distant objects are receding faster, light emitted by us today may never "catch up" to very far objects. This defines a future horizon, which limits the events in the future that we will be able to influence. Interesting isn't it??

- The universe is 13.7 billion years old - All the matter in the universe used to be very close together (very dense)
- The universe used to be a very uniform cloud of energy/mass despite it being very clumpy today
- The expansion of space is accelerating
- In the beginning the universe was so hot all the universal forces (gravitation, electromagnetism, etc.) were one force
-The accelerating expansion of the universe will one day spread galaxies so far apart we will not be able to see them because the light leaving them will constantly have new space created in front of it

ahhahhCHOO!!!!!

Old folks believed that if you don't blink when you sneeze, your eyes will fly out of your head. Thankfully, as is often the case with urban legends, this theory is a load of hooey. Your eyeballs are safe and sound in their sockets.

In reality, a sneeze is simply an involuntary nervous response to nasal irritation. The sneeze impulse affects a variety of body parts, including the abdomen, chest, neck, and face. During a sneeze, the impulses that travel through your face cause your eyelids to blink. This response is entirely automatic. There's nothing you can do about it. Sneezing puts a lot of pressure on your head and respiratory system, so blinking is probably a protective mechanism.

The point is that all of these responses (the abdominal contraction, the sharp burst of air out of your lungs, the general lunging movement) are intertwined. When you sneeze, you can't do one without the other.

interesting facts about PIGS!!!

Most animals are designed with their bodies to be able to get to their food sources and to escape from danger. So, for giraffes, they have a neck pointed to the tops of the trees. For pigs, their heads are directed downwards. They can only move the head up enough to be level with their backs. This doesn't allow for any 'star gazing' but does allow them to do everything else the pig needs to do in it's life. While this along with other conformational changes are not typical of what we consider 'good conformation' on other animals (for instance they are extremely upright in both the front and rear legs) they are built very well for eating off the ground and for escaping from predators which is what has allowed them to not only proliferate in areas to which they are native but also to do extremely well in areas where they were introduced by humans.HENCE O SUMMARIZE...PIGS CAN'T LOOK AT THE SKY!!!

Firework chemistry

The Chemistry of Fireworks.

Hello everybody, today i am talking about fireworks.Fireworks are usually made out of the following items; an oxidizing agent, a reducing agent, a coloring agent, binders and regulators. These this mixed together are what make up the basic fireworks.

Oxidizer:

The first thing in a firework is the oxidizing agent. These produce the Oxygen to burn the mixture. Oxidizers are usually nitrates, chlorates or perchlorates. The common oxidizers are nitrates. These are made up of a metal ion and the nitrate ion. I'll use potassium nitrate as an example. Nitrates only give up 1/3 of their oxygen.

The next Oxidizers are chlorates are also made up of a metal ion and then the chlorate ion. Chlorates give up all of their oxygen, causing a more spectacular reaction. Unfortunately this also makes the chemicals EXTREMELY explosive.

Perchlorates have more oxygen in them, but are less likely to explode if you drop them than are chlorates. Again these are made up of a metal ion and then the perchlorate polyatomic ion.

Reducing Agents:

The second elements of fireworks are the reducing agents. The reducing agents burn the oxygen produced by the oxidizers to produce hot gasses. Two examples of reducing agents are Sulfur and Charcoal(carbon). These react with the oxygen to form respectively Sulfur Dioxide and Carbon Dioxide.

Usually two reducing agents are combined. This results in speeding or slowing the reaction. Therefore, the reducing agents are used to control the speed of the reaction. Also, metals are often added to speed the reaction. The finer the powder the faster the reaction. This is because of one of the factors affecting reaction rates, concentration. If you set fire to wheat, it will burn slowly. If you set fire to wheat dust floating in the air, it will explode, this is shown when a grain elevator explodes. Also cornmeal is often used to slow down the reaction. These metals and the cornmeal are the regulators.

Binders:

The fourth element of fireworks are the binders. Binders hold the mixture in a lump. This lump is a star. In order to form a star, two main elements are used. These two are dextrine dampened by water, or a shellac compound dampened by alcohol. These are rolled and then cut, or the mixture is forced into a paper tube, and pushed out with a dowel. Then the stars are cut as they come out.So this is the awesome fireworks chemistry!!!

(GOOD TO KNOW:))

Origins of Black Powder

Gunpowder or black powder was invented in China by alchemists experimenting with a naturally-occurring salt, potassium nitrate, also known as saltpeter. Ironically, they were looking for an elixir of immortality. But in handling and heating the sensitive substance they inevitably discovered its explosive properties. The first known account of the use of gunpowder as a weapon dates to 1046 in China, describing a catapult-launched grenade, an incendiary bomb, and a smoke bomb. The Song Dynasty Emperor in 1067 banned the sale of saltpeter and sulfur to foreigners and nationalized the production of gunpowder.

Marco Polo is sometimes given credit for bringing gunpowder to Europe but that is unlikely. When Europeans invaded the Middle East during the Crusades, they encountered gunpowder weapons used by Moslem forces. Despite government control and attempts to keep the formula secret, gunpowder probably traveled the Silk Road from China to the Moslem world far earlier than Marco Polo's trip in the late 1200s. English philosopher Roger Bacon (1217-1292) is believed to the first Westerner to describe gunpowder and fireworks. By the mid-1300s, European armies were using crude cannons and other gunpowder weapons.

Gravity around the earth – why are you heavier at the equator?

After some research,i realise that you are NOT heavier in the equator as compared to the both poles because of centripetal acceleration you will weigh a tiny amount less at the equator than at the poles. Objects which are in motion like to go in a straight line and so it takes some force to make them go round in a circle. So some of the force of gravity is being used to make you go round in a circle at the equator (instead of flying of into space) while at the pole this is not needed. The centripetal acceleration at the equator is given by 4 times pi squared times the radius of the Earth divided by the period of rotation squared (4 timed pi2 times r/T2). The period of rotation is 24 hours (or 86400 seconds) and the radius of the Earth is about 6400 km. This means that the centripetal acceletation at the equator is about 0.03 m/s2 (metres per seconds squared). Compare this to the acceleration due to gravity which is about 10 m/s2 and you can see how tiny an effect this is - you would weigh about 0.3% less at the equator than at the poles!

There is a second reason that you are slightly lighter standing on the equator than at either the North or South pole.
The Earth is not a perfect sphere and is squashed because it is rotating.
Its equatorial radius is about 22 kilometres more than its polar radius.
When standing at a pole you are actually slightly nearer the centre of the Earth than on the equator as gravity reduces as distance increases and although this is very small it is a contributing factor. Incidentally you are slightly lighter when the Moon is overhead (tugging upwards on you like the tides) and heavier when it is the other side of the Earth pulling you downwards. Maybe ranging as much as 1 gram for the average person.

Hence, this is why i say that we weigh lighter on the equator as compared to the poles or countries near them.Thank you for your kind attention.
